Group: In 2016, ODID successfully piloted a small-vendor loan program during the town’s annual ecotourism festival. In addition, a seed project has successfully supported women with growing vegetable gardens. ODID is developing an Empowerment Women’s group with the objective to promote gender equality and enable these women to benefit out of mutual help, solidarity, and joint responsibility towards financial independence and self-improvement. To that end, ODID will support the implementation of the tested micro-financing small vendor project and vegetable growing. All the women in the North hub will be trained on women issues by AFASDA and AFLIDEPA will provide skill-building trainings on economic opportunities in mutual funds,
cattle distribution, and agriculture.
